Over 120 children at Cranbrook Primary School have created an impressive display of beautifully-handcrafted poppies to mark this year’s Remembrance Day, and honour all those who have lost their lives in service. ThePoppy Remembrance Trail, organised by award-winning five-star housebuilder, The Hill Group, will take place at Hartley Acres on Saturday 9 November, andSunday 10 November and will be open to the public from 11am to 3pm.
As part of this meaningful project, pupils participated in an exciting, hands-on workshop, recycling plastic bottles to craft poppies - the Remembrance Day symbol synonymous with hope and peace. The vibrant poppies, thoughtfully made by the children, will be used to line the Remembrance Day trail, creating a tribute to the fallen heroes of World War I and subsequent conflicts since.
Located at one of Hill’s latest developments, visitors will be invited to take part in a family-friendly, walking activity as they explore the Poppy Remembrance Trail. Trail leaflets will be available from the Hartley Acres marketing suite, and participants will receive a gift from Hill after completing the questions. The trail will showcase the children’s handmade poppies alongside educational displays about the significance of poppies on Remembrance Day. Allowing families to reflect and learn as they enjoy the picturesque walk, the event hopes to bring the community together and fundraise for the Royal British Legion.
The reveal of the Poppy Day Remembrance Trail will be coupled with a commemorative assembly at Cranbrook Primary School, hosted by Hill and Tim Nicholson from the Royal British Legion on Friday 8th November.
